Answering the Call: Serving the homeless in communities as a Christ Follower
As followers of Christ, we are called to love and serve others. There are so many in our communities who are struggling and in need of support, and we have the opportunity to make a real difference.
Let us come together and show the love and compassion of Jesus by serving those in need.
As it says in James 2:14-17, “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
We can put our faith into action by volunteering our time and talents, donating resources, or participating in any way we can. Let us join hands and hearts in service to others, and in doing so, honor the calling that God has placed on each of our lives. Volunteer
Come join us! We are looking for volunteers to help prepare and distribute meals, as well as offer a listening ear and a helping hand to those in need. Donate
If you're not able to volunteer your time, we welcome any donations to help support our mission of serving the homeless. Every little bit helps and goes a long way in making a difference in the lives of those in need. Thank you for considering joining us in this important work.
Participate
We recognize that not everyone may be able to volunteer or donate at this time, but there are still ways to get involved. Your prayers for our mission and for those we serve are greatly appreciated. Spreading the word about our organization and mission is also a great way to support us. Help us reach more people who need our help by sharing our message on social media or telling your friends and family about our work. Thank you for your support in whatever way you're able to give!
Service
With open hearts and humble spirits, we offer a helping hand to those in need. Our services include a range of items, from hygiene kits and blessing snack bags, to gently used and new clothing for men and women, blankets and jackets for the cooler weather. Through the provision of these necessities, we strive to show the love of Jesus to all those we serve. And most importantly, we share the Word of God, providing Bibles and spreading the Good News of salvation. By serving the least of these, we fulfill Christ’s command to love our neighbors as ourselves and bring glory to His kingdom. We give thanks for the amazing work that Jesus is doing in our midst.
Fundraisers
We have two main fundraisers each year. A fundraiser dinner in the fall and a weekend of homelessness in the spring. Most of our funding comes from monthly donations by people who really want to make a big impact.
